Learning & Development Manager

Job Description

As an L&D Manager, you will primarily work remotely, designing and delivering training programs for VBA employees. However, one of the key responsibilities of this role includes attending semi-monthly in-person training sessions and events in your assigned region to conduct workshops and provide hands-on training to employees.

  • Hybrid Work: Primarily work remotely, developing training materials, coordinating programs, and conducting virtual training.

  • In-Person Training: Attend semi-monthly in-person events to facilitate on-site training and workshops for employee development.

  • Mileage Reimbursement: Travel for these in-person events will be compensated with paid mileage.

The Learning & Development (L&D) Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s training strategy, employee development programs, and leadership training initiatives. This role manages a team of L&D Trainers, ensuring that training programs align with company goals and drive employee growth. The L&D Manager will design, implement, and optimize learning solutions using Microsoft Teams, TalentLMS, and other e-learning platforms to foster a high-performance and growth-oriented culture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the company’s learning and development strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Manage and mentor the L&D team, providing guidance on training design, facilitation, and delivery.

  • Oversee the creation and continuous improvement of training materials, courses, and learning experiences.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback, assessments, and performance data, implementing improvements as needed.

  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify learning gaps and create targeted development programs.

  • Lead leadership development programs, helping to nurture future managers and executives.

  • Ensure a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that supports employee growth.

  • Implement and manage e-learning tools, including Microsoft Teams, TalentLMS, and other digital learning platforms.

  • Monitor industry trends and integrate best practices into training programs.

  • Partner with HR and leadership to support onboarding, compliance training, and employee career pathing.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, or Instructional Design.

  • Proven experience in managing a training team or L&D initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams, TalentLMS, and e-learning platforms.

  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills.

  • Ability to develop engaging training programs tailored to different learning styles.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess training effectiveness and make improvements.

  • Experience with leadership development programs is a plus.

WFH Requirements

  • Must have verified internet service (secure, reliable and dedicated high speed is required to support business needs) and an established dedicated work area (desk, chair, electrical outlet, direct LAN connection). Company will provide equipment (computer) after 90 days of employment.

  • Must maintain workspace in alignment with WFH standards (e.g., technical, security, physical, noise levels, Clean Desk policy etc.) and participate in workspace audits (e.g., remote desktop observation, call and screen recordings, live webcam monitoring, pictures of workspace setup, video chats, etc.).

  • Be available, accessible, and accountable to work during established work schedules and shifts, follow technical support processes, comply with organizational security and compliance standards, trainings, performance management, recurring management routines, manual and automated remote monitoring policies, etc.
