Remote-First with In-Person Event Participation


As a Member Consultant, you will primarily work remotely, assisting new entrepreneurs with launching and growing their businesses. You’ll engage with potential clients, provide guidance on how to get started, and offer ongoing support—all from the comfort of your home office. However, one of the core aspects of this role includes attending monthly in-person events (e.g., Top Golf meetups) in your assigned region. These events provide valuable networking opportunities for prospective business owners and allow you to foster relationships in person, helping to drive business growth.

  • Work Remotely: Engage with clients and prospects through digital channels (phone, email, video calls).

  • In-Person Events: Attend monthly networking events in your region, helping entrepreneurs take the next step in their business journey.

  • Mileage Paid: Travel for in-person events will be compensated with paid mileage.

Recruit and retain VBA members and support the sales efforts for all special projects, products and online sales in a manner that furthers the brand and credibility of VBA. This is a very visible role within VBA and the community that reports directly to the Member Support Lead. 

Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for the recruitment of new members at a rate consistent with the goals and objectives of VBA’s budget. 

  • Responsible for building and maintaining a robust and qualified list of new member prospects that will ensure budget and personal goals are reached and exceeded. 

  • Maintain fee structure integrity, value of services and products with new member outreach and sales. 

  • Maintain and keep prospecting list current and updated at all times. Review with manager weekly. 

  • Focus on selling strategies that are consultative and includes all special project products and online sales as part of new membership sales. 

  • Primary focus will be on outside sales, with an emphasis on cold calls. 

  • Responsible for building and maintaining a robust and qualified list of special project/online prospects that will ensure budget and personal goals are reached and exceeded. 

  • Collect and process completed applications, contracts or service agreements for membership, online and special project sales in a timely manner and ensure proper follow through with new member benefit services and/or follow up. 

  • Build and maintain ongoing awareness of competitive products and services and other research. 

  • Participate with ongoing retention efforts for membership renewals. 

  • Build and foster a network of referrals to create new revenue opportunities for revenue growth. 

  • Responsible for knowing and being able to positively articulate VBA policies and membership types. 

  • Communicate effectively with members, potential members and guests and the public utilizing discretion and professionalism. 

  • Host, Plan, Execute and participate in Mixers 

  • Responsible for Kreadiv sales 

 
Compensation: $15/hr-$18/hr

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service or member support role.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and CRM software.

  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Passion for helping others and providing exceptional service.

  • Must Reside in Missouri​

WFH Requirements

  • Must have verified internet service (secure, reliable and dedicated high speed is required to support business needs) and an established dedicated work area (desk, chair, electrical outlet, direct LAN connection). Company will provide equipment (computer) after 90 days of employment.

  • Must maintain workspace in alignment with WFH standards (e.g., technical, security, physical, noise levels, Clean Desk policy etc.) and participate in workspace audits (e.g., remote desktop observation, call and screen recordings, live webcam monitoring, pictures of workspace setup, video chats, etc.).

  • Be available, accessible, and accountable to work during established work schedules and shifts, follow technical support processes, comply with organizational security and compliance standards, trainings, performance management, recurring management routines, manual and automated remote monitoring policies, etc.
